Production process flow of graphite electrodes and graphite product materials

In the production of carbon graphite materials and products, the most commonly used are conventional (or traditional) products, such as graphitized electrodes, pre baked anodes and cathodes for aluminum electrolysis, high-strength and high-density graphite, black brushes, etc. Their production processes are called conventional processes.

The production process flow of graphite electrodes. It is the process of pre crushing petroleum coke and asphalt coke, burning them, and then preparing powder through crushing, screening, and grinding. According to different specifications of products, a certain proportion of binder is added and mixed, kneaded, formed, and roasted (electrode joints and high-power or ultra high-power electrodes need to be impregnated before roasting). After roasting, the required size and surface roughness are obtained through graphitization and mechanical processing, which is the product.

Carbon materials are mainly used in the production of electric brushes, wear-resistant materials, and graphite products, which require the addition of carbon black treatment. Asphalt coke, metallurgical coke, and natural graphite are used as raw materials for crushing, grinding, or blending without combustion. Grinding and pressing powder tablets are mainly used for the production of fine structured graphite, wear-resistant materials, black electric brushes, and other products, and require multiple impregnation and calcination. The product that undergoes mechanical processing after sintering is a colored electric brush. Products that do not undergo graphitization after roasting include pre baked anodes, carbon electrodes, carbon blocks, etc. The paste products only need to be kneaded and formed, and can be produced using molding, extrusion, and vibration molding. These products are anisotropic; Products formed by isostatic pressing are isotropic.
